03/07/10 - The 18 Smack team played well today, defeating Formula One 25-13, 25-23 and Santa Barbara 17's 23-25, 25-19, 15-12. The girls fought hard but lost to Coast 18-2's 25-20, 23-25, 9-15. The girls finished 2nd in their pool.
02/27/10 - The 18 Smack team finished in a 3-way tie for 2nd this week in San Diego. The girls lost to Mizuno 17 and SMBC but defeated Sports Shack.
02/13/10 - 02/15/10 The 18 Smack team finished 63 out of 173 teams at the Las Vegas Classic this past weekend. The girls went 3-4 on the weekend defeating Vegas VB Roxy, Texas Juniors and Arizona Sky. The girls dropped matches to Carmel Beach, Eclipse Arizona, TRV and Bexar. Arika Zwack led the offense with 23 kills; Shannon Young added 19. Alyssa Trujillo had 17 kills, Katherine Nazaroff had 11 kills and Courtney Clark added 10. Jen Porter led the defense with 29 digs. Jessica Vargas had 18 digs and Jen Filatoff added 14. Look for the girls at their first SCVA mandatory tournament in San Diego February 27th.
01/31/10 - The 18 Smack team struggled again today, dropping their first two matches of the day. The girls lost to 951, 17-25, 25-27 and Sunshine, 22-25, 21-25 but managed to come out strong in their third match, defeating Club Mojave in 2 games, 25-17, 25-21. Competition was tight all day. Arika Zwack put down 13 kills on the day; Courtney Clark and Alyssa Trujillo added 11 apiece and Katherine Nazaroff had 10. Katie Heard and Zwack combined for 15.5 total blocks (13 solo + 5 block assists). Katherine Lozano dished out 36 assists; Jennifer Filatoff put up 15 assists. The defense was once again very strong with Jessica Vargas bringing up 36 digs, Jennifer Porter picking up 25 and Trujillo coming up with 17. The 18 Smack team will be in action again in Las Vegas for the Presidents Day Weekend tournament.
01/24/10 - The 18 Smack team struggled a bit today, going 1-2, but ended up taking 2nd in their pool after a 3-way tie. The girls had a very slow start against TCA, dropping 2 games, 15-25, 11-25. After a break, they were able to come back strong against Kern River, taking them down in 2 games, 25-17, 25-16. They faced Club Vegas immediately after that match and lost in 3 games, 25-23, 17-25, 10-15. Arika Zwack led the offense with 13 kills. Courtney Clark and Katherine Nazaroff added 9 and 6 kills, respectively. Despite the slow start, the team's defense was amazing. Jennifer Porter brought up 48 digs! Jessica Vargas added 31! Trujillo adn Jennifer Filatoff added 13 digs apiece. Zwack and Katie Heard crushed hitters' hopes all day, combining for 13 solo blocks and 8 block assists. Katherine Lozano dished out 33 assists on the day; Filatoff added 8. Look for the 18 Smack team in their 3rd Qualifier this Sunday, January 31st.
01/10/10 - The 18 Smack team took 1st at their first Qualifier. They defeated Beach Cities 25-18, 25-17, So Cal Elite 25-23, 17-25, 15-10 and Cal Heat 25-20, 25-22. Arika Zwack led the offense with 17 kills and Jen Porter fueled the defense with 27 digs. Alyssa Trujillo and Katherine Nazaroff had 12 kills apiece with Courtney Clark adding 13. Jen Filatoff and Trujillo each added 20 digs. Jessica Vargas added 14 digs and 2 aces. Katie Heard put up a wall with 14 blocks on the day; Zwack added 9. Heard also led the team with 5 aces. Katherine Lozano dished out 57 assists on the day. Look for the team in action again on Sunday, January 24th.

03/07/10 - The 18 Black team did well today, taking 2nd in their pool. They defeated Colton 25-21, 22-25, 15-10 and Fire-n-Ice 28-26, 25-10. The girls lost to Club Mojave in 3 games, 26-24, 10-25, 7-15. Teresa Garcia led the offense with 11 kills, Brandi Porter added 6 and Domonique Amaya, Sierra Bower and Megan Heatherly added 5 apiece. Lisa Hom fueled the defense with 22 digs. Shauntae Advincula dished out 15 assists and Lauren Langston added 14.
02/27/10 - The 18 Black team took 3rd place today in San Diego. The girls lost to Rancho Valley 14-25, 25-27 and Fusion Kauai 22-25, 22-25. They defeated Molten Wahine 25-17, 25-14. Megan Heatherly led all hitters today with 15 kills; Teresa Garcia added 9. Lisa Hom had 19 digs, Heatherly added 14 and Shauntae Advincula brought up 12. Advincula also dished out 12 assists with Brandi Porter adding 9.
02/13/10 - 02/15/10 - The 18 Black team travelled to Las Vegas this weekend. The girls went 2-6 on the weekend defeating Beach Cities and Vegas VB Roxy. They dropped matches to NorCal Select, Asics Rainbow, Mojave, California Blue, Pacific Jrs and AZVC. Megan Heatherly led the offense with 22 kills. Teresa Garcia was close behind with 18. Lisa Hom led the defense with 40 digs and Shauntae Advincula added 26. Domonique Amaya added 13 kills and Sierra Bower added 8. Lauren Langston dished out 29 assists and Brandi Porter put up 18.

Shauntae Advincula dished out 18 assists. Lisa Hom led gthe defense again with 20 digs. Watch for the 18 Black team as they travel to Las Vegas for the annual Presidents Day Tournament.

Melissa Berland chipped in with 3 kills and a solo block and Shauntae Advincula ran the offense with 45 assists. Garcia led the defense with 13 digs; Lisa Hom added 9. 03/07/10 - The 18 White team struggled today, taking 4th in theri pool. The girls lost to Starlings San Gabriel, 11-25, 19-25, One VBC 23-25, 19-25 and Royal Palms 11-25, 22-25. The team continues to improve at each tournament and tends to keep their game scroes tight.

02/28/10 - The 15 Black team took 3rd today, dropping matches to Park Center 26-24, 14-25, 14,16 and Legacy 22-25, 25-17, 8-15. The girls defeated Coast 26-24, 23-25, 15-9. Andrea Velasco and Julia Sargsyan had 11 kills apiece; Danielle Diaz added 10 and Kelsey Cardenas chipped in 6. Briana Velasco picked up 20 digs on the day with Sargsyan, Andrea Velasco and Diaz picking up 14, 13 and 12, respectively. Sargsyan dished out 23 assists; Kelsey Whelan added 5.
02/21/10 - The 15 Black team did great today! The girls took 1st place in San Diego! They defeated Rancho Valley, 25-22, 25-20, Starlings 25-14, 14-25, 15-12 and Formula One 25-9, 25-17. 01/30/10 - The 15 Black team took 2nd place at Qualifier 2! Danielle Diaz led a strong offense with 12 kills today. She also had 7 aces, 5 digs and 3 blocks! Andrea Velasco smacked down 10 kills and had 4 aces and 5 digs. Julia Sargsyan brought up a team-high 15 digs to go along with her 7 kills and 30 assists. Kelsey Cardenas also had 7 kills. Alyssa Buter had 6 kills. Watch for the girls in action in San Diego in 2 weeks!
01/17/10 - The 15 Black team took 1st place at their opening tournament! The team was led by Andrea Velasco who smacked down 17 kills. She also had 19 digs and 8 aces. Briana Velasco had 19 digs as well! Julia Sargsyan smashed 11 kills and tossed up 22 assists. She also had 13 digs and 14 aces! Kelsey Cardenas had 3 blocks and 8 digs. Great job girls!

03/13/10 - The 14 black team struggled a bit today, taking 4th in their pool in San Diego. The girls had numerous lengthy rallies and kept all matches tight.
03/06/10 - The 14 black team played great today!The girls went 2-1 to take 2nd in their pool. They defeated Flintridge, 25-13, 18-25, 15-3 and SMBC 25-19, 25-9. They lost to Surfside, 25-16, 25-23. The girls played really great today across the board. Cristina Palmer served amazing today! She served 9 straight serves in game 3 against Flintridge, 5 of those being aces! She had 9 total aces on the day and 6 digs. Taylor Medina and Meghan Buchanan stepped up in the setter roles for the first time and did a great job. Meghan had 12 assists and Taylor had 6. Meghan also had 1 block, 2 kills and 2 digs and Taylor had 12 digs and 3 aces. Cristina Macias smacked down 8 kills and had 4 digs. Toni Navarro had 12 aces and 8 digs. Jasmine Holiday had 4 kills and 1 block and Madison Heatherly had 6 kills and 10 aces on the day. Victoria Rodriguez had a kill, dig and assist and Nataly Garcia had 3 digs. Janessa Carbajal had 11 digs and 8 aces.

Madison Heatherly led the offense with 11 kills; Jasmine Holiday added 10. They combined for 5 blocks. Dominique Amaya dished out 22 assists and had 4 kills of her own. Toni Navarro had 11 digs and 2 kills and Cristina Macias added 4 kills and 5 aces.
02/07/10 - The 14 Black team went 2-1 today and ended up taking 1st in their pool! The girls defeated San Gabriel 25-10, 25-7 and AVVC 25-23, 25-21. They lost in three to DeAnza, 24-26, 25-22, 11-15. Madison Heatherly and Jasmine Holiday led the offense with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Dominique Amaya fueled the offense, dishing out 14 assists. Janessa Carbajal led the defense with 16 digs. Victoria Rodriguez added 6 kills and 5 digs and Taylor Medina added 5 kills.
01/23/10 - The 14 Black team made their debut today and took 1st place! They defeated Club West in the first match, 25-11, 25-7. They faced Starlings in the second match of the day and came out on top 25-12, 25-23. Finally, they played Desert Sports and won 25-16, 25-20. The 14 Black team was fueled by powerful serves all day. Madison Heatherly led the way with 12 aces. Cristina Macias added 11 aces with Janessa Carbajal serving 10 aces and Toni Navarro adding another 8! Heatherly also led the offense with 11 kills. Jasmine Holiday added 5 kills and also had a block. Macias added 4 kills and 3 digs. Navarro added 3 digs and an assist. Christina Palmer had 5 digs and an ace and Dominique Almuena ran the offense with 10 assists. She also added 4 aces and 3 digs. Look for the 14 Black team in action again on Sunday, February 7th.

01/24/10 - The 13 Black team went 2-1 to take 1st place at their 1st tournament! They lost to Stealth in 3 games, 25-12, 9-25, 9-15. They went on to win their last two matches by defeating Club Green in 2 games, 25-19, 25-23 and Channel Islands in 2 games, 25-21, 26-24.

03/13/10 - The 12 Smack team took 2nd place in Mandatory #2 tournament @ CSUF. The team won the first match in 2 games against Legacy, 25-22 and 25-21. The girls won the second match against Park Center in 3 exciting games. They came back from losing the first game 19-25, winning game 2 and 3 to win the match, 25-19 and 15-13. In game 3 the girls were down 9-13 and score the last 6 points in a row to close out the match! They lost the last match to So-Cal Elite in 2 games 18-25, and 14-25. Lauren Luna had 3 aces, 2 kills and 5 digs. Lourdes Pacheco had 3 digs. Sierra Franco had 2 kills, 1 ace and 2 digs. Emilia Pacheco led the offense once again with 14 kills! She also had 10 aces and 8 digs! Bailey Gallegos had 13 aces, and she also had 4 digs and 5 kills. Nicole Fraga served 8 aces of her own and added 2 kills and 7 digs! Daerian Ramirez had 2 kills, and 7 aces!. Laura Butler had 6 kills, and 5 aces! Marisa Spear led the back row with 9 digs!. Shae Diaz once again had team-high 22 aces along with 31 assists, 6 kills and 4 digs. The girls did an amazing job and fought through out the tournament. All players hustle for every ball! Lauren Luna served up a whopping 10 aces, 2 kills and 6 digs. Lourdes Pacheco had 1 ace and 4 digs. Sierra Franco had 2 kills and brought up 5 digs. Emilia Pacheco led the offense once again with 10 kills! She also had 14 aces and 7 digs! Bailey Gallegos had 3 aces, and she also had 2 digs and 3 kills. Nicole Fraga served 4 aces of her own and added 2 kills and 7 digs! Daerian Ramirez stepped up big and played middle blocker and had 2 blocks, 6 kills, and 3 aces!. Laura Butler 4 kills, and a block! Marisa Spear had 5 digs and 2 aces. Shae Diaz once again had team-high 19 aces along with 24 assists, 6 kills and 2 digs. Although we struggle a bit in this tournament, the girls face a tougher pool and did great. All players hustle for every ball! Great Job girls!

They beat Bakersfield in 2 games, 25-21, 25-15. They beat Culver Volleyball Club in 3 exciting games. The girls came back from losing the first game 15-25, and won the next 2 games 25-19, 15-13. Lauren Luna had 12 aces, 2 kills and 6 digs. Lourdes Pacheco had 1 ace, 2 kills and 5 digs. Sierra Franco had 3 kills and brought up 4 digs. Emilia Pacheco led the offense with 7 kills! Then they defeated Golden West, 25-19, 25-2 and 900 Sq Ft 25-23, 25-21. Marissa Valenzuela had incredible serving again, smacking out 20 aces!! She also had 5 kills and 11 digs. Nicole Miller also had 5 kills. She served up 6 aces and dug 7 balls as well. Belen Peinado had 2 aces, 1 kill and 2 digs. Summer Vargas had 3 aces, 2 kills and 4 digs. Jackie Cardenas also had a kill and 3 digs and Sydney Gallant served up 5 aces, smacked down 4 kills and had 7 digs! Watch for the 12's as they start Mandatory tournaments on February 27th.
